The Elandsgracht is located in the middle of the lively Jordaan and around the corner from the Nine Streets. The Elandsgracht was drained in 1891 and since 1975 the annual Jordaan festival has been held around the Elandsgracht. There are many cafes, restaurants and shops in the area. Think of Koffiespot, Pazzi Pizza’s, Ela Restobar, Balthazar’s Keuken, Bar Oldenhof, Thai restaurant Rakang and around the corner in the Eerste Looiersdwarsstraat Bar Parry and on the Looiersgracht the cozy café Festina Lente. You can do your shopping at the Albert Heijn further down the street or at one of the many specialty shops on the typical Jordaan canals and side streets. There are several public transport options in the area, for example on the Marnixstraat and the Leidseplein to, among others, the Central Station and the Zuidas.
